Aan de Europese buitengrenzen worden op structurele wijze fundamentele mensenrechten geschonden. Dit vormt een gevaar voor de Europese rechtsstaat. Door pushbacks wordt vluchtelingen hun recht op asiel ontnomen. Hierbij wordt vaak extreem geweld gebruikt, soms zelfs met de dood tot gevolg. Frontex (het Europese grens- en kustwachtagentschap) en EU-lidstaten leggen daarover nauwelijks verantwoording af.<\/p>\n

Door middel van internationale rechtszaken, een Europese coalitie van NGO\u2019s, een mediaoffensief en publieksparticipatie beoogt Prakken d\u2019Oliveira Human Rights Lawyers er samen met partnerorganisaties BKB, Vluchtelingenwerk Nederland, Sea-Watch Legal Aid Fund en Jungle Minds voor te zorgen dat Europese organen en lidstaten verantwoording afleggen voor de gewelddadige en illegale pushbacks.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n \n
