De oorlog die uitbrak in Oekra\u00efne in 2022 liet zien hoe de pers een vormende rol speelt in Rusland. De hoofdpersoon van deze film was lang h\u00e9t gezicht van een van de grote Russische zenders en daarmee een spreekbuis voor propaganda. Ze werd de enige Russische journalist die publiekelijk haar ontslag aankondigde en al haar staatsonderscheidingen teruggaf aan president Poetin.<\/p>\n

Ze besloot haar verhaal van deze transformatie te vertellen. Zo zien we in deze film hoe een Russische journalist met haar tienerdochter door het Rusland van Poetin reist, dat op het punt staat een oorlog tegen Oekra\u00efne te beginnen. Zij wil haar dochter, die opgroeide in het westen, iets meer van haar Russische roots laten proeven. Maar deze reis verandert hun beider leven intensief. Onder het strenge oog van haar dochter leert de moeder de realiteit te zien zoals deze is en ook om de waarheid over zichzelf te vertellen.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n \n
