Word je erdoor be\u00efnvloed, en wat vind je daarvan?\u2019 Dat is het eerste thema van Het Grote Mediadebat waarover heel Nederland vandaag met elkaar in gesprek kan gaan op <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nu.nl\/nujij\/6406826\/wat-merk-jij-van-je-algoritme.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NUjij<\/a>. De komende zevende weken zal er elke week een nieuwe stelling of thema online komen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Het Grote Mediadebat is een onderzoek, gesprek en campagne ineen. Over hoe wij in Nederland nieuws beleven, over wat we missen, waar we ons zorgen over maken en over wat er beter kan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meer nieuws dan ooit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Want nieuws is overal en altijd beschikbaar. Maar wie bepaalt wat je ziet? Wie controleert of het klopt? Wat als je erdoor wordt overspoeld? En wat gebeurt er als jij en je buurman over hetzelfde onderwerp praten, maar het toch over twee verschillende werelden lijkt te gaan?<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Hoe houden we grip op ons nieuws?\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nu.nl\/blog\/6407082\/hoe-houden-we-grip-op-ons-nieuws.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">schrijft<\/a> de hoofdredactie van NU.nl, Lindsay Mossink en Thomas Moerman, vandaag in hun hoofdredactioneel commentaar. \u2018Het internet verandert razendsnel. Op sociale media kies je niet meer wat je ziet, de platforms van big tech doen er alles aan om jou vast te in houden in hun eigen eenzijdige bubbel (veelal met ophef en controverse) en nieuws verdwijnt verder naar de achtergrond.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Ze hebben veel vragen voor hun lezers: Hoe beweeg jij je eigenlijk online? Scrol je eindeloos op Instagram of TikTok? En hoe komen nieuwsverhalen tot je? Zie je ze toevallig voorbijkomen, of ga je ernaar op zoek? Probeer je controle te houden over wat je ziet? En geloof je nog wel wat je w\u00e9l ziet? Hoe check je of het klopt? Spelen nieuwsorganisaties voor jou nog een belangrijke rol? Of gebruik je inmiddels gewoon een AI-chatbot om je te laten bijpraten?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gesprek met iedereen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Er komt meer informatie op ons af dan ooit, maar we kunnen er steeds minder mee. Nederland heeft nu nog veel nieuwsmedia: van\u00a0<em>de Volkskrant<\/em>\u00a0tot\u00a0<em>De Telegraaf<\/em>\u00a0en van\u00a0<em>NU.nl<\/em> tot <i>NOS op 3<\/i>. Maar de verdienmodellen voor onafhankelijke journalistiek brokkelen af. Grote techplatforms, zoals Instagram en TikTok bepalen steeds vaker wat we zien. Voor jongeren zijn de sociale media de belangrijkste nieuwsbron. En de komst van AI, onze persoonlijke nieuwslezer, gaat ook veranderen hoe informatie tot ons komt.<\/p>\n<p>Dit zijn geen vragen voor media-experts alleen. Ze gaan over hoe we samenleven, over welke informatie we aandacht geven en over de toekomst van onze democratie. Daarom voeren we dit gesprek met experts, mediamakers \u00e9n met een groot publiek.<\/p>\n<p>Betrouwbare informatie is onmisbaar voor onze democratie. Er zijn vele bedreigingen, maar er zijn ook vele mogelijkheden. Big tech lijkt almachtig, maar wat willen we zelf? Daarover moeten we samen nadenken, nu het nog kan.
