What we do
We invest in initiatives that contribute to our mission in various ways.
Funding
We use a number of financial instruments to support and strengthen initiatives that contribute to our mission:
Grants
We make financial contributions to relevant initiatives in the form of project or organisational support from our Democracy and Media Fund and the Civil Movements Fund.
Shareholdership
We are an idealistic, independent shareholder of DPG Media and De Correspondent.
Loans
In exceptional cases, we provide loans to entrepreneurial organisations that align with our mission, such as the Media Development Investment Fund.
Supporting and connecting
Where necessary and possible, we also provide other types of support:
Strengthening organisations and the field
We are committed to strengthening the impact of organisations and projects that contribute to our mission. We do this through activities and facilities for knowledge sharing, connection, training and organisational development.
Surviving relatives
We maintain close relations with the relatives of the founders of the illegal newspaper Parool. We also organise the commemoration of fallen employees held each year on February 5th.
Boosting and initiating action
We are also committed to mobilising the field and developing the resources needed to do so. This involves:
Providing incentives
We promote connection, collaboration and reflection within the relevant sectors through meetings, conferences, podcasts, fellowships, etc.
Programmaontwikkeling
We develop dedicated programmes where needed, sometimes in collaboration with strategic partners, for example the Civil Movements Fund.
